How to make yourself a bunk bed for children
• How to make a bunk bed for children
Good day, now I tell how, in the garage, I did a bunk bed.
It all started with the project, baseline data were as follows: a bed should be compact, reliable, beautiful, collapsible and preferably inexpensive. Left open the question - where to put the sofa-the baby? Looking on the internet numerous projects, I decided to make a single bed with a highly raised beds, and at the bottom to place the sofa, ascent to the "second floor" it was decided to make the shelves of steps with a handrail.
Making project went for the purchase of wood.
Bringing a bunch of "firewood", sorted, easily and precisely cut in the size of the board to the miter saw.
Fold in the stack via spacers.
Next started manufacturing rim - structure consisting of two parallel boards connected by bridges. A homemade table edge milling cutter has slots for the plywood slats 6 mm thick.
Since all this was done in the winter, and I was glued to the PVA (for gluing temperature should be at least + 5C⁰), that had been prepared for gluing parts to carry home.
Next, I started manufacturing bearing pillars, for this four staircases carved pillars 90h90h1100 mm were purchased. In them I use the pen drill 18 mm and a drilling machine to make holes for the spikes.
Supporting pillars had to extend, for this carefully miter saw cut decorative balls and build the pillars beams desired length, all glued to the PVA, using dowels.
Unfortunately not always work to bring your camera for a photo glued sidewall bed with headboard, back-glued the head of the boards 95 mm wide. Use pipe clamps 1/2 "
When everything was ready, the collected sample bed in the room held together with the help of furniture bolts. This design allows for the need to disassemble the bed to move to another place (which I did, moving bed in the nursery).
The first assembly, here it is, my pretty! :), still a lot of work, manual sanding and varnishing.
Time was running out, so the ladder-shelf manufacturing process I could not take pictures. According to the thought-out project has purchased the required number of furniture boards, a pair of shanks from shovels, front door and three balusters for the manufacture of handrails. Four days I spent in cutting-snapping and assembly of the whole structure, worried that the railing will be unsteady, even thought prisverlit firmly to the wall, but as the practice - everything was very durable and reliable.
The top drawer-made retractable step, the lower - just opened. Since this stage, instead of hinged handles made shaped cutouts, wife beauty painted pattern suns. Facade door bought in a nearby building Magazev.
All this I covered with acrylic varnish for parquet in 2 layers with interlayer manual polishing.
Here's a turned in my bed, daughter satisfied, in addition to beds. What a great place to store bedding, toys and things.
Somewhere in the past month of work in the evening after work and weekends I made a bed, gained valuable experience doing fascinating process of creating things (from ideas to implementation), save the family budget than a thousand rubles, as well as inspire new achievements. After half a year of operation of nuclear fierce children (seven and three years old) beds showed their best side, no creaking and rickety anything, sometimes I sleep upstairs (hiding from their loved ones). Kote we also took a fancy to the second floor where the children are not at home, he was snoozing there disorganized his furry belly)).
