• The two-storey extension to the private home in Canada
Veronica Martin Design Studio team presented the project of reconstruction of houses in Ottawa, Canada. A new two-storey extension and garage space designed as part of 80-year-old building. The main purpose of the architects was to preserve the integrity and original character of the house, bringing the necessary design elements for a family of 4 people. On the ground floor are located an open kitchen, dining and living area.
In the center of the space is a dining table for 14 people. Above it hung a huge lamp, and is seen in front of the fireplace, which attracts visitors in the depth of space. Summary kitchen wall consists of enclosures that surround the cooking zone marble top in the center. At the other end of the room is a living room with a TV mounted on the top of the wall, covered with trees. The master bedroom has been designed as a private place to relax families with busy lives. Thus, maintaining the classic elements of the house, the architects sought to expand its capacity advantages of modern design. Photo: Urszula Muntean Photography
