Brutal New Zealand group Mighty Mongrel Mob
• Brutal New Zealand group Mighty Mongrel Mob
In the 1960s in New Zealand Hawke's Bay town appeared a group of radically-minded youth. They did not go on the bikes, but quickly acquired all the other attributes of biker thugs: patchwork, colors clubs and quite creepy and cruel process of joining a gang. They were called Mighty Mongrel Mob (literally "Great bunch of mongrels"), and today it is the largest gang in New Zealand, with around 30 groups on the two islands. Access to "private" gang life is not so easy, but the photographer John Rothmann did. And thanks to his patience and fearlessness, we can now look at the colorful members of the powerful gang.
