Scientists have proven that dogs recognize familiar faces in photos
Scientists from the University of Helsinki (University of Helsinki), located in Finland, have shown that dogs are able to recognize familiar faces in the photographs.
It is well known that eye contact is an important part of communication between dogs and humans, but scientists have not studied the animals' ability to recognize faces. The fact is that before such a possibility was attributed only to humans and some primates. However, scientists from the University of Helsinki have corrected this list, having brought in his brothers our smaller.
According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, the researchers conducted an experiment with dogs trained to lie still. During the study, they showed pictures on a computer screen as a familiar animal people, and strangers, as well as pictures of other dogs. During the experiment, it was found out that our smaller brothers more often fixed their sights on familiar faces and their eyes, and not a stranger, that indicated the presence of the dogs face recognition skills, human-like.
The scientists were not limited to these observations and turned parts of the picture. However chetyrehlapye participants considered inverted face as long as the previous image, but focus more on vertical faces - just like humans.
Researchers told reporters about another important observation: During the experiment the dog much longer looking at images of their relatives than to pictures of people, regardless of the location of the pictures.
