The most expensive cities in the world in 2012

Mercer Company assesses 214 nations around the world to determine the cost of transport, food, clothing, housing, household goods and entertainment. The basis for the company takes the city of New York and evaluates the remaining 213 cities respectively.

Moscow remains the most expensive European city, taking fourth place in the list of the most expensive in the world.

In Asia, more than 6 out of 10 cities rose up in the list, including all surveyed cities in Australia, China, Japan and New Zealand.
London is the most expensive city in the UK and occupies 25th place in the list, going down by 7 positions down from last year. Paris is also moved down by 10 positions, taking 37th place.
Tel Aviv is now the most expensive city in the Middle East and occupies 31 place in the world.
In Africa, surprisingly, too many expensive cities, including Luanda in Angola, ranked second.
This is due to the difficulty of finding food and safe housing for immigrants. Limited offers affordable housing are very expensive. The cost of imported international goods is also high, which contributes to the fact that many African cities are raised in the list.
The ranking is dominated by Asian cities. Besides Tokyo, Osaka (3) were in the 20-ke the list of most expensive cities, Singapore (6), Hong Kong (9), Nagoya (10), Shanghai (16), and Beijing (17).
