In the Philippines, found the remains of a new species of ancient people
In 2007 within the Philippine Callao caves metatarsal ancient man had been found, but then scientists could not say for sure, he belonged to any kind of people. It turned out that this type of person was not yet known to science - recently on the same ground level, researchers have found more bones, which combine the features of both modern humans and ancient Australopithecus. A new species called Homo luzonensis, in honor of the island of Luzon, where the discovery was made.
The researchers were able to dig up 12 bones that belonged to two adults and one child. Among the remains were two phalanges of the fingers and toes, part of the femur, and seven molars. Scientists were surprised that found people were very small teeth, which suggests that they had a small growth. Perhaps the size of these people were like "people-hobbit" Homo floresiensis, found in Indonesian cave in 2003. tooth form was almost the same as that of modern humans, and phalanges - like Australopithecus.
It is believed that a previously unknown type of people lived on the island of Luzon, about 50 thousand years ago. Around the same time, on the Indonesian island of Flores lived those "people-hobbits" that have features in common with newfound views. There is an assumption that they are in for a while moved to another location, and eventually acquired their own characteristics, but the common features like low growth have still preserved. The scientists intend to continue to study the remains to the next of kin to better define previously unknown people.
On the life of ancient people it is becoming known more and more. For example, recently, scientists have found that climate change could make the Neanderthals cannibals. Of the terrible events that were happening in the cave Mula Gvertsi in the south-east of France, can be found in our material.
