Robots park your vehicle where it seems impossible

Motorists like no one else knows how difficult it is sometimes to find a free parking space. Fortunately, airports and the major hotels are engaged special staff - they only need to hand over the keys and they park the car. It is known that in the future a lot of work to be performed by robots, and car parking - not the exception. The development of such a system is engaged in the company Stanley Robotics, which has already tested its robotic valet parking in France. In August 2019 the test will be held at London's Gatwick Airport.

To use the service robot, you need to start the car in a special garage and specify their data through the terminal with a touch screen. Then you can safely go into the plane - one of the special robots on their own will in the garage and take the car to the total car park. Arriving back, your car can be found in the same garage and leave it at home.

Robots Stanley Robotics shaped like toasters, and their height is about the same as that of passenger cars. To transport cars from the garage to the parking lot, they carefully cover them for the bus and pick up a few centimeters. The robot can walk up to the car at both the front and rear - it depends on how it will be easier to move between the narrow rows of other vehicles.

Since drivers do not need to approach the cars, robots can place them as close to each other, blocking the door. Due to this, in the airport parking lot is located on 30% more cars - in the case of Gatwick, the parking lot instead of 170 cars fit 270. The company says that the cars will be delivered back to the garage in time, as drivers will be notified in advance of his return.
