SpaceX completed its last mission in 2018
It was a good year for SpaceX, a private aerospace company founded by Elon Musk. Just SpaceX successfully launched the first satellite of the global positioning system of the third series (GPS III) entitled "Vespucci" from Cape Canaveral in Florida. It was the first aerospace company's mission related to US national security. The company had planned to complete the launch of the last of this year, early in the week, but strong winds led to delays.
SpaceX won the contract to the National Space Safety (NSS) with the Air Force in 2016 and plans to launch an additional four GPS III mission on the Falcon 9, a two-stage rocket SpaceX production.
SpaceX completes successful year
GPS belongs to the military forces of the United States and operated by the Air Force. Built during the Cold War, the global positioning system started to be used for commercial purposes since the mid-2000s. New GPS satellites, by Lockheed Martin, will provide three times better accuracy than the current GPS system, and are eight times better cope with interference, according to SpaceX. "This is the latest generation of GPS satellites designed and built to provide location information to navigation, and the reconciliation of time", says the company. "GPS is used more than four billion users and supports critical missions around the world."
SpaceX completed 21 launch in 2018 - three more than last year. We can say that this year was a landmark for the company. Founded in 2002, Elon Musk SpaceX plans to raise 500 million dollars for the Starlink Project, in which throughout the world will be launched 11,000 satellites to improve the Internet connection. A new round of funding brings the company more than 2, 5 billion for this event.
