AI won the best lawyers in London
It has long been talking about the fact that many areas in the future may "give" bots running artificial intelligence. But if such automated production assembly lines or the service sector does not cause special concern, here is the field upon which depends the freedom of citizens is not so unambiguous. For example, recently created by the students of the algorithm CaseCruncher Alpha Cambridge coped with the jurist work better than top lawyers Albion.
CaseCruncher Alpha created by three students of the Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge Marusakom Joseph, Rebecca Agliolo and Ludwig Bull. Upon CaseCruncher Alpha is a chat bot based advanced neural network. Initially, the chat bot only answered the questions of legal orientation, but over time it managed to "pump" to such an extent that he was able to predict the outcome of the litigation.
With regard to the very unusual experiment, which is described by the publication Next Web: 100 best lawyers in London and robot CaseCruncher Alpha received the same task - they provided data on 775 disputed cases concerning payments insurance, and each team had to be as accurate as possible to guess which cases will solve the financial ombudsman and which will remain without a verdict. As a result, lawyers were right to 66, 3% of cases, while the AI forecasts coincided with the decision of the judge in the 86, 6% of cases. It is worth noting that this is not the first such development. For example, soon in the United States a special chat-bot will be launched, whereby any person without a legal education can file a lawsuit, and next year will earn DoNotPay algorithm. It will collect all the necessary documents to file for divorce. The use DoNotPay will save about US $ 10 000 for legal services. Thus, the question arises: if the artificial intelligence algorithms to cope better than men, and their services are less expensive, or highly skilled real need?
