Company Master Card released a test batch of biometric cards
Debit and credit cards have become an integral part of modern life. Even despite the fact that some of us are already being used by services such as Apple Pay, the majority of people continue to use the familiar plastic cards to calculate in stores and withdraw cash from ATMs. Company Master Card decided that existing technology can improve a little bit, and added to their card sensor for reading fingerprints.
The meaning of this innovation really is. It turns out about analogue Apple Pay, only to bypass the smartphone. When you have a lot of cards, it is not always convenient to keep PIN numbers from their memories, because not every bank allows users to come up with your own code for the card. A fingerprint is always with you, put a finger to the map sticking out of the terminal in the store, and it's done. Data on the printout are stored inside the card on EMV-chip.
At the moment, biometric cards are tested in South Africa. If the experiment proves successful, by the end of 2017 such cards with built-in sensor will appear in the rest of the world. However, not the fact that your bank will immediately rush to use new technology, so it is likely to have some time to wait.
