According to another, the bartender and the Faster - two different architects, both involved in the construction. A third version, the cathedral was built by an unknown master of the Western European, presumably Italian.
But the most surprising - it is the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci for the octagonal churches that are very similar to the plan of our Moscow cathedral.
It is possible that this geometrical logic and could be transferred to Moscow by Italian architects.
So, perhaps, at the heart of St. Basil's Cathedral of the project based on the ideas of Leonardo, of course, substantially revised, taking into account Russian traditions.
